A Custom Shade Solution for the Green Residence in Sterling Grove
When Rick Green reached out to us for a patio shade solution at his beautiful home in Sterling Grove in Surprise, Arizona, we knew this project would require our team's signature craftsmanship. The Green residence boasts a stunning backyard that faces a picturesque pond and the 13th green of the local golf course. However, with a direct Southern exposure, the patio needed serious protection from the intense Arizona sun without compromising the fantastic view.
The Challenge: Expanding the Outdoor Living Space
This installation was unique. The Greens requested that the screen be installed in a specific configuration that would actually increase their usable patio space, adding an additional two feet in depth. While this was a brilliant way to maximize their outdoor area, pushing the screen out created two large, angled openings in the top right and left corners where the roof met the house.
The Blue Sky Solution: Precision Craftsmanship
Achieving the top spot in the industry requires a relentless dedication to craft. To solve the gap issue, our expert installer, Sal, designed and fabricated custom-fit pieces out of plywood. He meticulously painted them to perfectly match the home's exterior. Knowing the unpredictable nature of Arizona monsoon winds and storms, Sal reinforced these custom pieces to ensure they would never give way or fall out.
To complete the seamless look, the screen was butted directly up to the bottom of the roofline fascia. Our team utilized high-quality foam to seal the attachment, ensuring there were absolutely no visible light gaps.
